It is one of the oldest departments of Women's Christian College that has been consistently producing good students. The college is decorated with all kind of facilities like

The Geography department is one of the oldest department of the college. The Honours Course started only from 1981. It is the only subject of the college which is practical based. It is a large department having maximum number of students in the honours course.

The department organizes seminars, special lectures, excursions and fields trips which help in the academic upgradation of the students as well as the members of the department.

For field study students went to places like Bhubaneswar, Santiniketan and Haridwar in different years. The department has also organized daylong trips to nearby significant places like Science City, Energy Education Park, Paribesh Mela, Birla Planetorium and the East Calcutta wetlands.

The department is having a seminar library. More than 280 books and a few journals are there. The books cover the syllabus of both Honours & General course. There is a huge range of reference books in both Bengali & English versions.

The laboratory is well equiped with -
- Satellite imageries with corresponding topographical sheet.
- Aerial photograph
- Survey instruments with accessaries.
- Topographical sheets of various region such as plateau, plain, etc.
- and the weather map
- There is a well furnished rock gallery where rocks & minerals are displayed
The Computer Laboratory has 5 computers in the lab loaded with 21st century Solution G.I.S. Software.
